YOUR RIGHTS

ARE PROTECTED.

If you have been injured in a car wreck in Oklahoma, you need to speak to a lawyer right away in order to protect your rights. Attorney Eric Urbach is the Oklahoma accident lawyer who can help. Do not let the insurance company take advantage of you! You can count on us to negotiate with the insurance company to make sure you get fair value for
your claim.

We are problem solvers.

If you or a close family member suffered a serious injury in a car crash that was caused by someone else, you can’t help feeling the unfairness of having to suffer when you did nothing wrong. Insurance claims are more complex than most realize. You are suffering—physically, emotionally, and financially, for someone else’s wrongdoing. Although no amount of money is ever adequate compensation for your losses, making a claim against the responsible party can make a huge difference. Handling the claim yourself is more complicated and messy than you realize. Let us take care of it for you.

WHY HIRE AN ACCIDENT LAWYER?

Big ships (like insurance companies) move very slowly. It’s no wonder people get frustrated trying to handle claims themselves! Fighting for fair compensation without a lawyer is difficult. If you are without representation, insurance may very well try to take advantage of you and give you the worst offer. Having a lawyer there to fight for you, protect your rights and negotiate for you can be huge blessing.

CAR ACCIDENT STATISTICS

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 37,461 people were killed in 34,436 accidents- an average of 102 per day. People are driving more than they used to, and cell phone use has increased. Following the national trend, vehicle fatalities are on the rise in Oklahoma. Many of these accidents are due to DUI.

Many motor vehicle crashes can be attributed to driver negligence. The most frequent causes of car accidents in Oklahoma are:

  • Distracted driving – This includes cell phone use, eating, talking, hitting buttons or looking for items in your car.

  • Drunk driving – Legally, you are considered “intoxicated” when your blood alcohol content (BAC) is above 0.08%, and penalties for a DUI are strict. Even a first offense could lead to six months in jail and a $2,000 fine, not to mention the potential of losing your license for an extended period of time

  • Teenage drivers

  • Weaving in traffic

  • Reckless driving

  • Ignoring common traffic laws

  • Unsafe road conditions – This includes potholes, construction items, debris, and any other obstacles in the road

TYPES OF CAR ACCIDENT INJURIES

A serious car accident can cause horrific damage to the human body that is all too often fatal or life-changing. These are some of the many types of injuries that often occur:

Common Injuries:

  • Torn and damaged tendons and ligaments

  • Fractures

  • Chronic pain

  • Anxiety, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other psychological damage

More severe injuries:

  • Brain trauma – Car accidents are the cause of 14 percent of traumatic brain injuries every year. These can take months or years to recover from, if recovery is possible at all.

  • Spinal cord damage – This can be anything from simple bruising to a fracture causing paralysis. Car and motorcycle accidents account for 35 percent of new spinal cord injuries in a year.

  • Paralysis – Spinal cord injury is the second-leading cause of paralysis, at 23 percent (a stroke is the most common). So if a person suffers spinal cord damage in a car accident, there’s about a one-in-four chance that they will suffer from paralysis to some degree.
